Manipulatives for the Orff Classroom

Both teachers believe that, just as in play, children learn concepts by manipulating objects. During this workshop, many items will be shared that can be used, not only in a real classroom, but in a virtual one as well. Don’t forget to bring a paper or plastic cup, a sharp pencil, a piece of string (not nylon) and a paperclip.

Barbara Grenoble is a graduate of Eastman and received her Teacher’s Certificate in Orff Schulwerk from the University of Toronto. She has given hundreds of workshops at Orff chapters, national AOSA and MENC Conferences. She is the recipient of the the Colorado Music Educators Association Hall of Fame award and the Distinguished Service Award from AOSA. Barbara was the founder of the Rocky Mountain Chapter. Presently, she teaches at the Grenoble Studio of Musical Arts.

“I think I can fix that.”
